Team-Anita-Saville-photojpgANITA SAVILLE ∙ EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDER. Anita has written about women’s finances for more than 30 years. She runs a successful communications business and is the founder of PurseStrings, a financial news service for women. In addition, Anita worked as an editor at Fidelity Investments — where she became certified as a registered securities representative — and taught in the Maryland public schools. She has volunteered with a variety of organizations that support women’s rights and helped launch a chapter of the National Organization for Women in Lowell, MA.

Team-Kathy-Brough-photoKATHY BROUGH ∙ DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS & CO-FOUNDER. Kathy has volunteered at the Lowell Transitional Living Center, an adult homeless shelter, for more than 22 years. She has served as the shelter’s treasurer and was a board member there from 2006 through 2015.  She has also volunteered at an agency serving homeless citizens living with AIDS.  She is a local town meeting representative in Chelmsford, MA, and served on the town recycling committee for 10 years. For more than 16 years, Kathryn managed the day-to-day operations of an engineering consulting firm — handling accounting, human resources, project planning, budgeting, and cash flow.  She established similar systems for a startup firm that offers customized medical care.

KATIE NEVILLE ∙ SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER. Prior to Budget Buddies, Katie held a variety of positions in office management, banking, and educational settings. She holds a B.A. in political science and communication from a dually-accredited American university in Switzerland. Katie is currently enrolled in the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, for the 2017-2018 academic year, through which she will earn a certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. She is a proud mom of an awesome six-year-old, and an elected member of the Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committee. Katie joined Budget Buddies in December 2014.

KATIE STOLL ∙ SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER. Before joining Budget Buddies in January 2015, Katie spent six years volunteering as a Crisis Counselor for a non-profit in her home state of New York. In addition to counseling, Katie was also responsible for making sure the agency was running smoothly and that counselors were available for clients 24/7. Aside from her volunteering, Katie also worked for a grass-roots organization called Project Hope, that provided physical and emotional assistance to Hurricane Sandy survivors. Currently, Katie graduated from UMass Lowell in 2016 with a Masters Degree in Community Social Psychology.

JULIE LEMIRE, MSW ∙ SENIOR COACHING COORDINATOR. Julie serves as the Director of Shelter Operations at House of Hope in Lowell. Previously she worked as a patient advocate at Lowell General Hospital,  in case management for more than 13 years with House of Hope, as a case worker for the Center for Family Development in Lowell and the Lowell Community Health Center, as well as a mental health counselor at the Lowell Youth Treatment Center. Julie has been with Budget Buddies since 2011.

MARGARET MURRAY-STEWART ∙ GRANT SPECIALIST. Margaret has worked in the non-profit field for 20 years and has an extensive background in administration, program design, curriculum development and grant writing, as well as over 15 years as a teacher and trainer for those working with youth, particularly girls. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Economics from McGill University, and a Masters in Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern University. Margaret is driven by her passion for helping women, youth, and families – working to improve services and empower those who are striving to transform their lives and their communities.   She has held diverse roles in several Boston-area organizations including: Hunt Alternatives Foundation, Citizen Schools, Wayside Youth and Family Services, Girls’ LEAP Self-Defense (where she continues as a teacher-trainer), and the Institute for Health and Recovery.

KAITIE CHAKOIAN-LIFVERGREN ∙ REGIONAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR FOR BOSTON. Prior to joining the Budget Buddies team, Kaitie was the Volunteer and Data Coordinator for WISE, an organization committed to ending gender-based violence in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont through survivor-center advocacy, prevention, education, and social change. Kaitie also has experience as the Program Director for Girls’ Leap Self-Defense, a Boston-based organization that empowers girls and women to value and champion their own safety and well-being. Kaitie is excited to bring her knowledge of the Boston social-service community together with her experience of working with low-income women to launch the Budget Buddies program in Boston! Kaitie is currently studying poverty alleviation through social policy at the Heller School for Public Policy at Brandeis University. She holds a M.Ed from Northeastern University and a BA from Simmons College.


GRATIA GOSSELIN ∙ COACHING COORDINATOR. Gratia has been employed in retail banking and residential lending for over 25 years. After pursuing her AA from NECC in Human Services, she accepted her current role as a Certified Financial Educator with Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union where she became associated with Budget Buddies as a presenter. Supporting the credit union’s mission of “helping members make smart financial choices,” Gratia focuses on teaching financial concepts to middle school students as well as adults in need of guidance. She enjoys working with people of all ages, backgrounds, ability levels and cultures. Drawing on her knowledge and experience in the field, Gratia enjoys giving people the tools that will help them reach their financial goals. Gratia is the proud mother of three, and enjoys volunteering with her husband and daughters at many local organizations including Catie’s Closet, Living Waters Center of Hope and Ironstone Farm’s Challenge Unlimited program.


BERNADETTE WHEELER ∙ COACHING COORDINATOR. Bernadette has been a longtime advocate for social programs that improve communities and change lives. She is an active member of the Board of Directors for Community Teamwork, Inc. and a volunteer and supporter of programming that promotes stability, self-sufficiency and opportunity. A proud mother of five, and certified in Early Education and Care, she has been especially focused on promoting early childhood education and supporting the HeadStart program. She has also served as Chairperson on the HeadStart Policy Council. She has held positions in the cellular/technology industry as well as in Nutrition Services for the Town of Billerica.
